Nuts are available either as whole or chopped in various forms based on customers' or consumers' quality requirements.
Natural nuts are pre-cleaned from foreign bodies (stones, shells etc.) and then they can be chopped in slices, in cubes, in sticks (slivered) and in powder with the use of machines that have special knives. The mechanical equipment that we possess has got the possibility of chopping the nuts in a variety of sizes. Thus, we have the possibility of producing sliced nuts in various sizes, such as "thin", "medium thin" and "thick", with various thickness between 2mm to 10mm, slivered nuts of "medium" size and powder of "fine" quality.
All products, before the final packaging, from small packages (30gr) up to big ones (of 10 kilos), pass through metal detectors.
The final products are stored in refrigerators - in an environment of controlled temperature and humidity - up to the moment that they are loaded onto the trucks.
A large and important piece of the processes that takes place in our installations is the Blanching of Almond Kernels. Using steam we remove the skin of the almond kernel that can then be chopped as previously described. The use of White Almond Kernels is addressed mainly to the confectionary industry. In the ultramodern productive unit the mechanical equipment that we own is of the latest and more advanced technology. It has got its own stone removal machinery, laser machinery through which possible non-blanched nuts are removed, filters in order to remove the broken nuts and a metal detector before the packaging so that the purity of the products is ensured.
